Green beans make for an easy side dish, and since they’re a part of many cuisines, there is an infinite number of ways to prepare them.
I’ve always been a fan of the classic, buttery taste and crisp texture of French haricots verts. Then, I had the garlic green beans at Din Tai Fung. They’re crunchy, light, and packed with flavor.
My aunt made Chinese-style green beans on a recent visit, and while they’re not exactly like Din Tai Fung’s, this has become my family’s go-to recipe. It’s insanely simple, goes well with any meal, and my daughter loves them! Just remember the rule of fives – steam for 5 minutes, sautée for 5 minutes, and coat for 5 minutes.
